Twin Cities Lunch | Quang in Minneapolis

When I was in high school, I used to go to the Market Building in downtown Roanoke and have pho for lunch. It was delicious and I loved it. Then, the building closed for renovations and new restaurants took the place of old restaurants and I went like four years without a bowl of pho.

But then, a few months ago, my friends Daci and Rachel and I got together for a little girls night at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (we're wild, I know) and decided that we absolutely needed Vietnamese food. After sitting down and awkwardly leaving what ended up being a chain restaurant, we found ourselves at Quang, which is where we wanted to be all along, because it is also where the bowls of soup are enormous, the spring rolls are heavenly, and the menu is packed full of gluten-free options.

My life is once again complete.

I have seriously not stopped thinking about it since I went with my girlfriends in April, so Rob and I finally had a chance to go over the weekend. We ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls, I had a bubble tea, and we each got a bowl of Pho Tai (#505 on the menu). It was awesome.

Weekend in Photos // Summer Days
Summer and Porch 1 001.JPG

This weekend was mostly rainy and grey, but Rob and I had the best time relaxing and hanging out with virtually nothing to do. We slept in a little bit, drank coffee, went out for breakfast, had a great early dinner on Saturday at one of my favorite quick and casual places (look for details on tomorrow!), and just did a little bit of exploring here and there in between spending a lot of time at home.

We visited a brewery and Rob ate a magical chicken and waffle sandwich, and I got an almond milk latte with rosemary lemon syrup from Spyhouse (it was awesome). It thundered and rained off and on from Friday until Sunday morning, which really made it feel like summer is finally here. There's just something about getting caught in a sudden downpour on an otherwise sunny day that feels kind of magical.

Friday Favorites [on Saturday] (41)

Happy weekend, friends! I have some links I wanted to share but yesterday I really wanted to show you my DIY menu board, so here I am on a Saturday. Last night, Rob and I went to happy hour at Chino Latino with some friends, followed by coconut milkshakes at The Wedge. We've been really busy lately and it was so nice to just slow down and enjoy an evening (and be home early)! I have zero plans for this weekend other than sleeping in, going for a walk or two, and maybe having lunch at The Happy Gnome or breakfast at Modern Times (...maybe both).

But anyway, here are some links for your weekend!
