Feeling so incredibly lucky in almost every way. I get a little overwhelmed with it all lately (especially after 4PM or anytime after the sun goes down...hormones are weird). Rob and I are really tired most of the time but Sophie is just the sweetest little baby and really chill with the exception of about 3 hours every evening when she screams non-stop. And Ender has been so cute and is trying really hard to get used to all the changes around here.

Eating this chicken enchilada casserole and these no-bake lactation bites. I made the enchilada casserole before Sophie was born and we loved having it in the freezer waiting for us after we got home from the hospital. We actually enjoyed it so much that my mom made another one for us while she was visiting and we're currently finishing it off--I might have to make another one soon! And the lactation bites are an awesome snack for anyone, but I have definitely found them to help me keep up my milk supply.

Drinking tons of water, apple juice, ginger ale, green juice from Pressed Juicery, warm water with lemon--basically anything I can get my hands on. I've been a little under the weather the past two or three days and I think I got a little dehydrated on Saturday, so I've been trying to catch up ever since.

Watching Difficult People, The Crown, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. We're seriously just cruising through shows these days.

Loving having Rob home on paternity leave. It's made everything so much easier and also it's just fun having this much time together at home.

Looking forward to Sophie's first Christmas. We don't have a ton planned but I think that's what I'm most excited about--just a low-key holiday and hopefully a few naps.

What are you currently feeling, eating, drinking, watching, loving, and looking forward to? I want to know!

Excited about my second cookbook's launch! The e-book version is officially on sale today, so you can order it and receive it right away. If you want a hard copy, they're still in pre-sale but will be available May 9th. It's been such a whirlwind writing and promoting this new one, but I'm so happy to see it get to this point.

Looking forward to a few days at home. We've been so busy with our trip to North Carolina followed by my trip to Denver, and this weekend one of my brothers-in-law will be here with his girlfriend, so I'm trying to use today through Thursday night to get organized, catch up on a few things, and also just rest--Pure Barre teacher training wore me out!

Watching Sex and the City, for some reason. Rob and I always have one old show on rotation at night and right now it's that. Shows I haven't seen yet but want to start: The Crown, Silicon Valley, and finally the last few seasons of Downton Abbey. What are some of your favorites?

Listening to S-Town. I'm only a few episodes in but I'm totally hooked.

Drinking iced coffee! Tis the season. Also I've really been into chai tea lately. I just brew it at home and add a little splash of half & half--maybe a little honey if I'm in the mood.

Dreaming about having a house where every room is clean all the time. Does anyone else struggle with this? I can get the kitchen or bathroom and/or living room spotless and vacuumed and dusted, but our bedroom or the guest room or our little dining room becomes a tornado of clutter. If you have any tips, I want to hear them--I'm so tired of this being one of my weaknesses! It bugs me so much.

Feeling simultaneously motivated and a bit overwhelmed by all the things I have going on right now. I'm really excited to be adding Pure Barre teaching to my schedule, but before I do that officially, I have a lot of learning and memorizing to do. Wish me luck!

What are you currently excited about, looking forward to, watching, listening to, drinking, dreaming about, and feeling?

Thinking about our life here in California. It's been almost six months and sometimes I really feel like I have a routine and a life here, but other days I really wish we were back on the East coast, especially as spring approaches (although I know you guys over there got some snow this week, which is not very spring-y now, is it?).

In my reader survey last year, I had someone tell me I should stop "complaining about living in California," which took me by surprise because I never imagined that my homesickness would come across as ungratefulness, but I guess it did. Regardless, I stopped sharing as much about that topic, but as it comes up again I feel like sharing it. It's so complicated--I'm so proud of Rob and happy for the opportunities we've been given as a result of moving here, but I'm still allowed to miss my friends and routine back in Charlotte.

Loving the weather we're having here lately! It seriously rained all winter, which is so weird for the Bay Area. Ender was not happy as it sort of interfered with his dog park schedule. But now the sun is out and the ground is dry and yesterday it was in the 80s! It's so fun to drive with the windows down and soak up the sun--this past weekend Rob and I actually sat outside at our community pool and it was amazing. I think I'm going to try to make time to swim regularly this spring and summer, because I'm always really bad about taking advantage of having access to a pool and that's just silly.

Doing lots of Pure Barre. I started going to barre two years ago this month! Every March they do this challenge where you try to go 20 times in 31 days, and so far I'm on track to finish! When I go 5 days a week I really get super into it and feel way stronger.

Missing my girlfriends, all over. I think I've written about this before, but I've never really lived in the same place as all my high school and/or college girlfriends. I think that's partly why I'm always so nostalgic for my time in college--we all lived together and we saw each other every day no matter what. Sometimes I find myself daydreaming about everyone settling down in the same city, even though we're scattered from California and Virginia to Florida and pretty much everywhere in between.

Looking forward to a trip to North Carolina next month! Rob and I are going to Charlotte in April and instead of staying with friends decided to book an Airbnb in our old neighborhood so we can walk to all of our favorite places. I think it's going to be so fun, plus we get to see our friends' new baby who was born in February! It'll be a long weekend full of friends, long walks down the Rail Trail, breweries, coffee shops, and all of our favorite food (get the nachos ready, Sabor!).
