This past month has been so busy. I mentioned that a bit before, but seriously, April was crazy and we travelled a lot. We just got back from Sonoma with some family that was visiting and they fly back home today, then I have quite a bit of work to catch up on before we head down to Santa Barbara to celebrate our anniversary! We've been gone every weekend since the beginning of April. I'm really excited to explore Santa Barbara with Rob for a few days, but then it's going to be good to get home and find our regular routine again. I just can't believe May is here already!

I've recently started drinking enough water for what is probably the first time in my life and it's kind of amazing.

We've been spending a lot of time re-training Ender on a few things we kind of dropped the ball on when he was a puppy and it's been really awesome. He is getting really good at stay, and it's come in handy so much already! Our next hurdle is to teach him that he's allowed on the couch snd bed, but only when invited. He listens to Rob more than me and is kind of halfway understanding the whole concept--does anyone have any tips?

This weekend we stopped by a farmer's market in Santa Rosa and I bought a box of strawberries that were so good I ate most of them while we walked around. They were bright red and juicy and sweet and it was one of those straightforward moments that just bring you happiness, no matter how simple. I do love spring.

I always feel bad when I let a few weekdays go by without a blog post, but if I don't have anything planned I'd rather just step away than throw something random up. But I'm always interested to hear from readers what they like more--would they rather hear from me every day or maybe less frequently with "better" "content" (whatever that means)? Either way, last week was really busy for us and by the time Thursday and Friday rolled around I was so ready to take a step back and relax that I ended up neglecting the blog a bit.

We had one of those weekends where you simultaneously get a lot done and still manage to find time to take a nap every day (those are kind of my favorite). We finally filed our taxes (woof), had a session with Ender's dog trainer, and did a lot of cooking and lying around. On Sunday I woke up early and went to barre and then the grocery store, so the rest of the day we just lounged around, watching basketball and Friends.

I have loved every season of Girls but this one is quickly becoming my favorite. I always feel weird that my favorite characters in the show are all men, but Elijah is wonderful and I was so into last night's episode featuring mostly him. I also loved Dill and hope he's back for good. Also I am Adam's #1 fan and thought I liked him and Jessa together but I am really rooting for him and Hannah to get back together. Anyone else watching this season?

I'm getting really excited about our trip to Charlotte in a few weeks--I always hate leaving Ender (especially because he has so many friends in Charlotte!), but it'll be really great to get back on the East Coast and see so many people we love. I'm also going to be on my friend Rémy's podcast!

It's been four months since we moved to California and I'm starting to think that's exactly how long it takes before you even begin to feel like you live somewhere. This weekend I went to a Junior League of Palo Alto event with my friend Kate, and last week I finally found a hair salon I like. I've also been spending a lot more time at my Pure Barre studio. Staying busy has been really great for me lately, and it's been such an important reminder that in so many aspects of life, you really do only reap what you sow.

We adopted Ender two years ago this week. He was just a little 8-pound pup, squeaky and full of yawns and with the sweetest puppy breath I've ever encountered. He's my best bud and I definitely don't miss having to take him out every two and a half hours, but sometimes I wish we could turn him back into a brand new puppy for just a little while.

With the exception of a few cheat days, I've been following the keto diet for almost a month now. For me it's basically super low-carb Paleo with a bit of dairy, and I'm still trying to figure out what works for me. I'm so happy to be back on a strict grain-free diet, and I've basically eliminated any and all sugar from my diet. (Writing my second cookbook helped me get back on track, too.) I think I'm going to write a recap post in the next couple of weeks with my thoughts on keto. If you have any questions about it, let me know!

I'm off to Palm Springs tomorrow for my fourth Alt Summit--can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday I was planning for my first one in Salt Lake City. I'll miss visiting Utah (The Grand America is so magical and I love the snow), but I can't say I'm disappointed to be skipping another bout of altitude sickness this year. I'm so excited to soak a little sun and, as always, lots of inspiration.
