Happy Friday! The week after being out of town is always a little crazy for me--I'm the worst unpacker ever, so I usually just have a huge mess on my hands for a few days. This weekend I plan to hang out at home with Rob, get organized, finish (the first draft of) our seating chart for the wedding, and write some more thank-you cards from my bachelorette weekend and bridal shower!

But anyway, I wanted to pop in today and share some links for your weekend:

Food and Drink

• This made a lot of sense to me: Why I Stopped Drinking Almond Milk & Went Back to Regular Milk Instead. If I weren't lactose intolerant, I'd definitely do the same. But I'm not, so I'm going to cut down on my almond milk intake (mostly I just have it as a treat whenever I go to my favorite coffee shop).
• This cauliflower pizza crust looks insane. I'm going to make it!
• I'm working on a sponsored campaign with Ghirardelli, so look for that post on Saturday if you're interested!

Music and Television

• Not sure if I totally agree, but this piece about Sansa Stark being Game of Thrones' strongest character made a lot of really good points.
• I totally love the new video my brother's band, She's a Legend, just put out. Did you know you can vote for them to win a spot at Warped Tour's Battle of the Bands? I'd love it if you would (and do it often)!

Pretty and Cute

• My blog-friend Sam's new website is amazing! I have loved her photos for as long as I have "known" her.
• I recently became a Chloe + Isabel Merchandiser and am interested to see how it goes. I'm not going to start doing pop-up shops or anything, but I thought it might be fun to share a few of my favorites every now and again. They have so many great pieces! My current favorites are the Le Rococo Statement Ring and these sparkly little earrings. You can see more from the collections when you visit my boutique here!

As you might already have noticed, Rob and I I went to Virginia last weekend to pick up our marriage license and so that I could go to a lovely bridal shower thrown for me by some of my mom's sweet friends. It took place next door to my parents' house and everyone had the best time. It was a beautiful day to be at Smith Mountain Lake, I got to wear a fun dress, the food was fantastic, and La Crema sent us some of their delicious new rosé to enjoy with our guests.

It was so nice to spend time with some of my girlfriends, as well as Rob's mom and aunts, who traveled from all over to be there. We had a fun Bloody Mary bar and the rosé was a hit, too--it really is a wonderful, special choice for a celebration. Look for it later this spring! You won't want to miss it.

There's this thing we do when we're at my parents' house--somewhere between the hours of 11:30 and 3:00, people gather around the island in the kitchen and take food out of the fridge. It's not always planned and sometimes you have to get a little creative, but there's always enough food to go around and it's always delicious.

There are leftovers from dinner. Some Paleo version of chicken Marsala or meatballs or a breakfast casserole from the day before. Huge salads topped with sliced turkey, tomatoes, avocado, and homemade vinaigrette we shake up right there in a mason jar. There are often salami or proscuitto sandwiches on toasty gluten-free bread that go under the broiler before being loaded with mayo, mustard, peperoncini, and lettuce. And there's always a pot of tea.

My mom flies around toasting and cutting and plating, while my dad comes over from the computer and my brother comes up from his room downstairs and whichever friends are over wash tomatoes and help themselves to Diet Cokes from the fridge--everyone is always so welcome at our house and it's the best. Sometimes we don't even sit--just all stand around eating and talking until we're full. There are always little moments that strike me as precious whenever I'm home, and this is one of them.

Lately, Rob and I have been talking about the possibility of moving back to the East coast. Nothing is definite and details haven't even begun to be ironed out, but to be able to get in the car and drive to have lunch with my family and friends is such a wonderful thought after almost a year of being so far away.
