Happy Friday to you! How was everyone's week? I went to the eye doctor on Wednesday because I've been experiencing some blurred vision periodically and found out I have astigmatism and need glasses for when I'm working! I picked out some really pretty ones and I'm excited to not have to focus so hard on seeing what's in front of me anymore.

Check out some links that I've been saving for you since last time:

Cute/Funny
This was adorable and hilarious--a six-year-old judges some books by their covers (found on The Rumpus).
I can't get over how wonderful this dog is!

Apparently this Category is Religion
I loved reading this piece, and I think I'd like to get there someday--No matter what, I'm still Catholic.
A co-worker of mine sent me this link and we had a pretty good WTF Moment over it. Seriously?
Pretty interesting visual in this article--Religion and Science Are Closer Than You Think.

Fashion
These boots are perfect.
I want this bracelet.
These sunglasses and this bag (in lemon) have me dreaming of spring.

Blogs/Blogging
A new blog friend for you to make this weekend: Esther Fox.
My brother's band started a blog. You can check it out and follow along right here.
I loved this post by Betsy.
Get Excited! I'm so excited about my friend Ed's new recycling venture, which you can learn even more about right here.

Sponsored by WideAngle
WideAngle is all about discovering, sharing and saving the photo memories you love. This month, they're giving away a new camera every week. Learn more about the campaign and enter here. (And thanks for your support as I occasionally work with sponsors!)

Inspiration
I went to a screening of The Startup Kids last night and it was amazing. It was awesome to see how much enthusiasm there is for creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship right here in Roanoke.

I'm looking forward to a weekend of reading, writing, and Rocky-walking. What do you have planned?

Well, we're almost a week into the longer-distance thing. I realize that I've sort of talked about it every day this week, but it's also sort of been on my mind this week, so I hope you'll bear with me for a few more days. I think the weekend will be a little strange, but I've got a list of things to do that I think will keep me occupied.

As much as I miss Rob already, I'm trying to really make the most of this time: I've been running regularly again, going to bed early, reading, writing, and just doing lots of things that I wasn't doing very much of in the past weeks. It doesn't really make sense to me yet, since Rob was in no way hindering my productivity (I mean, we were still four hours away even when he was in Virginia); but in a way, being a little more on my own has inspired me to be a little more productive with my time.

I don't know if it's going to stick, but I'd like to take advantage of the distance and create some good habits for the long run.

And I just have to say thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for all of your well-wishes and support regarding Rob's move and the distance between us. It's a pretty amazing thing to feel such love from so many people, most of whom I've never even met. Thank you.

[My mom and I took Rocky to our favorite park last weekend. I think I'll go again tomorrow.]

I have lots of links for you this Friday! I like doing these posts every two weeks instead of one, but then I end up bookmarking way too many things. I actually had to organize these so I didn't just throw a bunch of stuff at you:

Food
Loved this: Gluten-Free, Whether You Need It or Not.
I can't wait to make this soup. My goodness.

Fashion
You can take an additional 20% off of all sale items at Jigsaw London until Wednesday with the code FreckledItalian7596.
I want to wear this dress everywhere.
I am still loving everything about Everlane and I want every single thing in their shop.

Blogs/Blogging
Emily at Anna Delores takes some of the most gorgeous photos. I wish I lived closer so we could have a session!
I've been having so much fun watching real-time analytics of my blog with GoSquared.
Kristin has an awesome feature called "For the Love of a Linguaphile" and I love it, but this post was definitely my favorite one so far.

Instagram
I think Instagram-recaps are such a fun way to get a glimpse into bloggers' lives, and Kayla's made me smile.
My friends Matt and Tony have three pugs, and Tony started an Instagram feed for them. It's awesome, and you should probably follow them here.

Good Reads
It gave me so much hope to read about Megan Phelps-Roper leaving the Westboro Baptist Church.
Another interesting, hopeful read: My Coming Out as a Friend of Dan Cathy and Chick-fil-A.
Silent reading isn't so silent--at least not to your brain.

Hilarious
Chris Brown "Deserves Respect," Says Chris Brown: what a joke!
Saw this on The Rumpus and laughed out loud: Shakespeare quotes that sound like 1990s hip-hop lyrics.
Don't worry so much, Bunny Foo Foo.

Enter to Win
And finally, some giveaways I'm in on: this one and that one.

Have a wonderful weekend! My brother is home and I'm really looking forward to relaxing around the house for a few days.
Feel free to leave me some links you love in the comments!

Thank you all so much for your well-wishes via text, Twitter, and blog post comments this week!

After several quarts of wonton soup without the wontons plus steamed chicken and vegetables (it was all I could eat--luckily it's my favorite), cup after cup of herbal tea, little cocktails of orange juice, vitamin C powder, echinacea, and colloidal silver (have I ever mentioned that we're kind of crunchy in The House of Flynn?), and about a day and a half's worth of naps, I finally feel like a human again.

[Sometimes I have trouble putting my love for honey into words. I think this photo does it justice.]

I haven't shared Friday Favorites in a while, so I have quite a few links listed today. Hope you enjoy! And let me know what you've been reading/eating/wearing lately!

First of all, I have to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my beautiful friend Jenna. Jenna, I love you so much and I miss you!

I'm almost done with this little collection of stories from F. Scott Fitzgerald and you guys, I know we all know this, but that man can write. It's like eighty pages and you should all read it some lazy weekend when you're at home or in a coffee shop.

One thing I love about Rob is that he periodically sends me pictures like this one throughout the week.

Dana from The Wonder Forest has wonderful e-book available called Blog Wonderful: An E-Book for Bloggers.

My friend Whitney sent me this article about coconut oil and I'm all about it!

I'm trying to do this thing where I don't spend any money on anything I don't absolutely need in 2013, but this little tulle skirt is making it so difficult. Also this sweater.

Interesting to read about Israel's ban on too-thin models, as well as a few other countries' responses to the problem.

Robyn's blog always gives me serious wanderlust.

Is anyone else out-of-control excited about the return of Arrested Development?

Diana lives in Minneapolis, loves animals, and is super active and seems wonderful! I especially like her Ask a Vegan column.

Don't forget to enter to win a custom blog design from Signed, xoxohannah!

I'm off to Richmond this evening to see my brother play a show with his band, She's a Legend. They'll be at The Canal Club and the doors open at 7:00. If you're in the area, come! Send me a tweet if you're around so I can find you!
