Right now, I believe…

that parental leave matters.

that 6 hours of sleep is not as great as 8 but way better than 3.

in finding tiny little pockets of time for yourself, even with a newborn.

that this pandemic will end one day, even if it feels like we’re never getting out of it.

in stepping away from the screens,

and deep breaths,

and taking things one day at a time.

Right now, I believe…

that if you think of something nice to say to someone, you should tell them.

that “self care” lately has felt a little more like survival mode. It’s not okay, but it’s not forever.

in quietly sitting by the fire with a cup of coffee in the morning, even if you have to get up at 6:00 AM to do it.

that if things aren’t working, eventually you need to find a way to change them. Life is too short to be exhausted and overwhelmed 100% of the time.

that berry TUMS are way better than the assorted fruit ones.

that almost a year into this new normal, we are so close to regaining some semblance of our old lives back. We can’t give up yet.

that love is still the most important thing.

Right now, I believe…

that you really don’t need that post-3:30 PM coffee, even if you think you might.

that fresh air has never been more important.

that one-sided relationships don’t magically change just because there’s a pandemic.

that you’re not a worse person because you’re having trouble focusing/creating/being productive through this stress.

in waking up before everyone else to get some things done, even if you have no plans to leave the house.

that tomorrow is Saturday, even if every day this week felt like a big ol’ Monday.

in looking on the bright side, wherever you can find it.
