One time at Nordstrom a sales associate told me I was "a winter," which meant that I should always dress in jewel tones. I get that and everything, but I'm still a pretty huge fan of neutrals--black, white, grey, and lots of shades of peach or tan.

This dress is one of my favorites--it's another BCBGeneration sale find from my time living down the street from Mall of America, and I feel like it's perfect for work, lunch, a party, even a bridal or baby shower. 

I'm still on the hunt for a perfect blazer or leather jacket, and once I find it, I think this dress would transition really nicely into fall and even winter.

Now is the time of year when twenty-something women all over the country start daydreaming about fall. I am one of these women--and while you won't find me lining up for a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks anytime soon (does anyone else think an August launch date for that monstrosity is a little much?), I will be wearing my jeans.

I've had this leather bag for more years than I can count--I used it through graduate school and as a work bag before it just started to fall apart a bit at the handles recently. I still use it a lot and I'm pretty happy with how well it's held up. I may replace the handles at some point--is that a thing? It's one of my favorite pieces of my wardrobe.

I originally bought this little striped dress to wear as a top with maxi skirts, but the other day I was in Roanoke and hadn't packed enough clothes, so I threw one of my favorite tees on top of it and it ended up making a pretty great skirt. Now it's my favorite outfit!

I'm also still using this bag almost every single day. Rob got it for my birthday last year and it was perfect for fall, but I think the brightness of it has carried over well throughout the summer. The color was both what drew me to it and made me think twice about it, but I've loved the pop of color it has added to my otherwise mostly neutral outfits.
