A couple of weeks ago I was invited to try some dishes from Liang’s Village in Cupertino on behalf of Best Food Bay Area. One of my goals for 2019 is to spend more time on food photography; and you guys know I love to eat, so I pretty much couldn’t say no when they told me I basically just had to show up, take photos, and then dig in. (They did mention that I could bring a plus one but like a true amateur, I showed up with my one year old.) There was way too much food for just me and Sophie, so they were kind enough to pack it up and Rob, my brother-in-law, and I had a really great dinner at home later on that night.
A quick list of what they served me:
Beef Noodle Soup (so good—Sophie loved the noodles)
Spicy Pork Wontons (my favorite)
Mixed Seaweed
Scallion Pancake Beef Wrap (10/10 would get again)
Shredded Tofu
Tomato Pork Rice
Nori Nori Matcha
Potted Matcha (pictured below)
Honestly, everything was so good! I’ve never had Taiwanese food before and it was really delicious. They also have a bunch of really interesting drinks—I’m not a huge matcha fan but I really enjoyed the potted matcha, which was topped with crushed Oreos and a sprig of mint.
Here’s to more food and even more photography in 2019!
