I just wanted to take a minute to have some of you who might only read this blog in a reader hop out and check out the left sidebar of the blog and see this lovely portrait that Kelli Murray drew for me! I have been dreaming about having a portrait done for months now, I am so happy that I finally took the leap and got to work with such a wonderful artist. Thanks, Kelli!

We recently got an ice cream maker, but here are some shots from before that--our first attempt at homemade almond milk ice cream. We kept it old school with a jar and a bag of ice. The recipe still needs work, but it tastes good and you can't really beat a cold treat on a hot day that isn't going to make you sick. Almond, dates, honey, and vanilla--frozen! Hallelujah. 

Happy birthday to the man that I love so much, the guy who makes me laugh and is there for me when I cry, who believes in me and supports me no matter what bizarre idea I've managed to come up with, and who simply enough just gets me.

I am so thankful for the handful of birthdays we've spent together. Here's to many, many more!
