Twin Cities Happy Hour | Eat Street Social in Minneapolis

Rob and I visited Eat Street Social for happy hour a couple of weeks ago, and the cocktail list was amazing! Neither of us had ever been there before, so it was nice to try a new place and check out a new menu.

The dinner menu looked promising, but the happy hour snacks were not my favorite (mostly fried options) I did totally love my cocktail--I had the Summer Tea & T, a fantastic little drink with yerba mate-infused gin, Indian green coriander, honey, yuzu, and galangal--and I kind of want to go back to try a few others on the menu.

All in all it was a good place for a quick date, but next time I might actually have dinner, or make a stop just for drinks.

Around These Parts

It's been busy but quiet around here. Been getting back to working out, cooking at home, and trying so very hard to be in bed before 11:00 PM (not always as easy as it sounds, no matter how enticing).

But summer is here and I am so glad. It's been really nice spending so much time outside--on Friday after a dinner with friends, we walked around a park with sorbet and ice cream, and on Saturday I went to a CrossFit workout on a rooftop in a really cool Minneapolis neighborhood, followed by a delicious breakfast on a patio.

Rob's brother got in on Saturday afternoon and has been hanging out with us all weekend, which actually made me feel a little homesick on Sunday evening. But Minneapolis really is magical in the summer, and I'm happy to be here.

Summertime and the Living's Easy

I'm not sure if you guys caught on yet or not, but Rob and I kind of love Minneapolis, especially in the summer. Lately, we've been spending a lot of time at the Stone Arch Bridge, one of my favorite spots in the city, mostly because of the fantastic view it offers.

The other day, we met up with Brooke of Brooke Alexandra Photography (who is one of the sweetest people ever) to snap a few photos, because I know you guys aren't sick of seeing pictures of me and Rob together yet, are you? (That was a joke...kind of. But just in case, I made sure to leave the white dress at home.)

While the city itself is fantastic as always, we've also been spending a lot of time at home, in the park across the street, on our patio, or upstairs on the roof to watch the sunset with a couple glasses of wine. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to unwind after a long week.

How do you like to spend your summer evenings? Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
