Happy Friday you guys! I thought last week was long, but then I went on a business trip where my company put on a conference and now I think that this week was definitely longer.
[Baltimore Sky]

Sunday morning I was at the office by 8 AM so we could get on the road, and when we got to Baltimore we set up and registered people and met all the attending clients at a wine and cheese reception. On Monday we were up at 5 AM to get ready and eat breakfast. I registered people until the conference began, and presentations and small group sessions lasted all day. We had a '20s theme party where we got into costume and had cocktails and dinner and dancing with everyone, and on Tuesday morning I gave a presentation (to 150+ clients!) where I was able to show off what I've been working on for the past two months. It was nerve-wracking and the whole conference was a lot of work, but it feels so good to be part of a team and to be doing something worthwhile. I couldn't be happier. But I couldn't be more exhausted.

Here are some things I've loved this week. I haven't really been around very much!

My real-life friend Alli emailed me a link to this beautiful article about female friendship.

Rob got me a few shirts from Everlane this week and I know I've posted and tweeted about this company before, but I really can't go on enough about how much I love them. I need every top in every color!

THIS GUY! Found him right here on Reddit.

JIGSAW LONDON FLASH SALE! Ohh boy.

I love the pictures Amanda and her friends took in this post. Makes me wish all my girls lived in the same place!

I always want everything from ModCloth, but I usually stop myself. I don't know how much longer I can hold out! I feel like I need this sweater so I can escape to some snowy cabin and drink hot chocolate by the fire.

Sam blows my mind with every post. This one was no different.

I bought and started Blue Like Jazz and it is so beautiful already. I always kind of want to write about my religious views here, but then I'm not sure about it. Maybe this will inspire me to share soon.

Did you enter to win $20 to Sprightly So? Do it now!

I'm really looking forward to a fun, relaxing weekend. What are you going to be up to?

[Last bits of summer--my mom came home with these bright, alien-looking vegetables the other day.]

This week has been so long, despite the holiday on Monday. I am so excited to not be driving four hours after work today, but a weekend at home still isn't exactly in the cards for me--I'm off to Baltimore bright and early Sunday morning for a conference where I'm actually going to be speaking. I am so nervous! Luckily Rob is home for the "weekend," so we can hang out tonight and all of tomorrow.

On a different note, I feel like I go through different stages of wanting to really write and wanting to be a little more superficial on this blog. I feel torn--sometimes I just want to write a post that is really thoughtful and carefully edited, and sometimes I want to share links and photos and give away cool stuff (BTW congratulations to Kayleigh for winning the blog design! Joelle will be in touch with you soon). I guess right now I feel like I'm kind of stuck in the middle. We'll see! I have some easy posts scheduled for you while I'm away, but maybe after that I'll sit down and write something (the phrase I always use when I don't write more then a few sentences all week).

Until then, check out a few things I've loved this week:

This trailer for Downton Abbey's third season. One of my favorite shows and I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait.

Kelly Ann's photos from the golden hour are so beautiful, they actually made me gasp. I want to take pictures like that.

Okay, so, Dorothy Perkins? My friend Jenna briefly introduced me to the wonder that is this website, but I've only now just given it a real look and now I'm going to be broke soon.

Indie Maven wrote an awesome article about the Trial of Labor project. It's something that is dear to my heart, as I was born via c-section and my brother was a VBAC baby.

Rob and I just came upon our 42nd mensiversary yesterday, which we really only acknowledge because I really like the word mensiversary.

Speaking of anniversaries, these wonderful people have been together for 82 years.

And last but not least, two new blog friends for you: Kate and Amanda.

Have a great weekend!

[The two of us, pumped to be hanging out together last weekend. Follow along on Instagram @megan_flynn.]

This week was wonderful because on Wednesday I turned in the signed and approved copies of my thesis, thereby completing my master's program! And then yesterday I finished my first big assignment at work, and some really exciting things are going to come of that.

I also haven't mentioned yet that this weekend is sort of my birthday weekend, as I'll be turning 24 on Tuesday. So many things to celebrate! I'm starting by driving to Tysons Corner once again, spending time with Rob, having a nice dinner with my cousin and some friends on Saturday, and then Rob and I will head back to Roanoke together (!) to finish out Labor Day weekend.

Here are some of my favorite things from around the web this week:

I can't wait to read Blue Like Jazz. It's next on my list after Les Miserables.

This person's Elmo impression is just too good.

Love him or hate him, President Obama on Reddit was cool.

And while we're on Reddit, I loved the first comment by "CalicoFox" on why bacon isn't bad for your cholesterol.

Rob's mother just launched her new photography website and it looks awesome! She is so talented and her work is great.

How perfect are these gold triangle earrings?

Don't forget to enter this giveaway with Joelle if you're in the market for a new blog design!

And last but not least, my friend Jackie recently opened an online stationary shop and it is cu-ute! She actually sent me a letter on one of her cards this week and it is so beautiful.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
