Weekend in Photos // New York and Back
On Friday, I left work an hour early, got stuck in traffic anyway, finally picked Rob up in northern Virginia four and a half hours later, and then we drove five more hours to Tarrytown, New York.

We got to the hotel and passed out and then Sean ran the next afternoon, thereby finishing four years of college cross-country. We explored the village, ate some of the largest portions of Greek food I've ever seen, drank espresso, and went back to the hotel to nap. With the best intentions, we headed to the train station to catch a ride into New York City, but it was $100 for four of us to get there and back and we didn't actually have any plans. So we went to a bar and had a drink.

I didn't take one good picture of Rob, it felt like we were only in town for twenty minutes, and we drove more than sixteen hours to get there and back, but I'm so glad we went. Road trips really are the best, even when they're not.

Happy Birthday, Brother
It's hard to believe that this guy is 21 today, but it's true.

He's back at school doing cross-country things before his senior year of college kicks off next week. It feels like only yesterday that he was graduating from high school and I was just home for the summer. I remember my senior year and 21st birthday like it was fewer than three years ago--how everything is special and legendary. It's one of the best.

Happy birthday, Sean. You are a light in my life and I love you so much.

VLOG | In Which My Dog Plays a Piano
This happened the other day. Please excuse my loud cackles in the background. I obviously couldn't help it.

I'm on my way to DC to have dinner and a sleepover with my wonderful friends Tina, Melissa, and Whitney, and then tomorrow morning Rob is flying in! I'm picking him up at the airport and then we'll be in Charlottesville for a day or two before we head back to the lake. I have a few posts scheduled for you while I'm gone. Talk to you later!
