Life Lately According to Instagram (#9)
Hi there! Just hopping in this morning to share some photos from my phone with you.

I'm looking at the first two images in this collage and I can't believe that a month has gone by already! These posts seem to be turning into a month-to-month feature instead of a semi-weekly one, but I want them to be more current. So allow me to catch you up and maybe come back with another one sooner than later.

1. A morning at work. Sometimes I leave early and get myself a treat!
This was iced coffee with half a pump of coconut syrup and then I put my own coconut cream in it.
2. My boss and I, primping for a Roaring '20s party in Baltimore.
3. Organizing my necklaces that until this point where in a tangled mess on a counter.
4. Sunday afternoon lounging with Rob.
5. A nice hot cup of tea with my mom.
6. My beautiful cousin, Ashley, on her wedding day!
7. Rob's watch loves to cuddle with my watch.
8. Got to spend a few hours last weekend with my precious gal pals, Whitney and Melissa.

Enjoy the weekend!

Life Lately According to Instagram is a semi-weekly feature in which I showcase a few of my favorite Instagram shots. You can follow along with me in real-time if you'd like--just search for username @megan_flynn.

Friday Favorites (06)
Happy Friday! This is the first weekend in what feels like forever that I won't be traveling anywhere. Rob should be getting in late this evening from northern Virginia and we are going to spend the weekend together here at home! I'm going to try to bake some muffins and go on a long walk and paint my nails--but that's it!
[I'm all about some red lipstick these days.]

Here are a few links I've loved this week:

Alice Walker on Censorship, in honor of Banned Books Week.

This clever little insert turns any purse into a camera bag. I'm getting one!

I love Kayla's sweet story about finding her sister on Myspace.

Speaking of Myspace, have you seen the new version yet?

Drawl Magazine is raising funds so we can go from online magazine to a quarterly print publication. It would mean the world to me if you could check it out here and make a donation or tweet about the fundraiser.

If you live anywhere near Farmville, Virginia (yes that's a real place), stop by Longwood University and see my brother's band, She's a Legend, play at Battle of the Bands! They go on at 7:00. I wish I could be there!

I'm really having a moment with sequins. And I'm head over heels in love with this dress. The Christmas parties! New Year's Eve! The possibilities are endless.

Two new friends for you to meet this weekend:
Vanisha is a PhD student from Fiji living in Australia. Needless to say, her life is cool.
Eliza and her husband are starting a new adventure and moving to Georgia! Follow along as they get settled in their new lives this month.

Did you know that October is National Bullying Prevention Month? Sign the Pledge to Choose Kind.

I just made the switch to selling ads through Passionfruit--I hope my future sponsors will find this to be convenient. You can check it out and actually place an ad at any time during the month right here. Please don't hesitate to email me if you have questions, though!

Have a great weekend, you guys! I plan to do a lot of relaxing at the lake. What about you? Please feel free to leave a link to something you enjoyed this week in the comments! I'm scheduling a new Life Lately According to Instagram post for tomorrow, so stay tuned for that!

I Think I Miss You Most on Wednesdays
Shirts and Gloves by Dashboard Confessional on Grooveshark

It has rained incessantly since Monday morning. Sometimes it has poured, sometimes a cool, wet haze has just lingered on streets and treetops. These misty fall days are my favorites, but I can't help but get nostalgic as always for autumns past, especially the most recent one--when Rob and I shared an apartment and lived the part-time lives of a student and a barista. Getting home late happened at only three o'clock, and even then there was always time to sprawl out on the couch or in bed with blankets and books and our favorite shows.

More than any of that, though, was coming home to someone and telling him in person about your day. Not on the phone or in an email, but actually face to face, with hot chocolate, and your hand in his.

"So many high points on this last leg,
I can't wait to recount them.
It seems that nothing's happened until I share them with you."
--Dashboard Confessional

I say a lot of the same things over and over--I love the rain. Fall is magical. I miss Rob. It's all true.

A little long-distance mush for your Wednesday.
