Taking a Moment in the Middle of the Week

I'm trying to do yoga. When I say that I'm trying to do yoga, it means I got a sudden urge to one day stretch and actually be able to touch my toes. I am not flexible. So I did a few sun salutations yesterday and felt pretty good about it.

This move from Virginia to Minnesota has been really smooth so far, so naturally I am waiting for the moment where my anxiety will kick in and I'll freak out about being so far from home. So far so good though, you guys.

But what do you do when you feel a little anxious or a little stressed to calm down a bit?

I made a list.

+ Call someone from home. Ask to talk to your dog as well.

+ Go for that run even though you're sore and really don't feel like it.

+ Make some tea. While the water boils, stretch.

+ Watch a couple episodes of

Friends

. Works every time.

+ Write something down. Step away from it and add or edit.

+ Look through old photos and laugh at your hair.

+ Lie down on the couch and read something.

What do you do when you need to chill out?

Celebrations | Birthday Giveaway & Ad Sale
I'm turning 25 in two weeks.

I love a good birthday as much as the next person, but I've never been one to make a big big deal about celebrating too much. This year feels different. It's a little inconvenient that my family and friends are a plane flight away, but I still want to celebrate. Because there are so many things to be thankful for. I'll be 25--a quarter of a century! After a long year of distance, Rob and I are living in the same apartment again. I just bought an incredibly expensive ticket to Alt Summit and I intend to make the most of every minute of that conference. Oh yeah, and did I mention that I'm getting married in May?

I have some stuff planned for my 25th year.

So, in celebration of all that's going on in my life these coming months and with gratitude to you, who have made this blogging thing such a pleasure, from now until September 4th (my birthday), all ad spots are 75% off. (Get it? Because I'm turning 25, ads are only 25% of their full price. Yeah--math.) Just use the code HAPPYBIRTHDAY.

And to keep the party going, I've got a giveaway. Let's do this!

Sponsored Post: Hanes Undercover Color

Let's talk about underwear. Right? Why not.

I ran on the cross country team of a small Catholic high school, and we were absolutely Not Allowed To Run in Sports Bras. There are a lot of things like that which took some time to get over (a full semester passed before I wore flip flops to class, and even longer to chew a piece of gum during a lecture), but the sports bra thing mostly remains. My best friend Emma and I, after graduating, would sometimes meet up to go for a run in the middle of the summer and discuss at length whether or not we should take our shirts off.

The point of this seemingly random story is to tell you that Hanes recently sent me some panties, the softest tee shirt ever, and several awesome bandini bras; and the bras are substantial enough that if I were going to run in just a sports bra today, it would totally be in one of these bad boys.

Hanes asked that I style my favorite pieces with other garments and accessories I love. While I love to dress up, sometimes over the weekend I just want to chill out in a comfy tee and a pair of my favorite jeans.

My Hanes panty #Undercovercolor is: Pink
Bandini bra, panties, and tee: c/o Hanes | Jeans: Citizens of Humanity

As you can see, my selections are a bit on the pink side, which leads me to Hanes' Undercover Color campaign. Pink and I are just having a moment right now! Luckily for me (and you), Hanes is unveiling a brighter, more colorful look this summer with panties, bras and tees in on-trend patterns and vibrant hues.

In celebration of their fun and fresh fashions, Hanes is inviting women to join a candid conversation by revealing what color underwear they’re wearing right now, or their “Undercover Color”-- because a women’s “Undercover Color” is an important reflection of her personality and mood from day to day. Hanes is asking women everywhere to answer a simple question: “What #UndercoverColor are you wearing right now?" Hanes will then take the information they’ve collected from women across the country and publish color trends for a fun, fresh take on women’s fashion.

So, don't leave me hanging! What color underwear are you wearing right now?

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
