Today I have a giveaway for you! My best friend Emma works for NovoNail, a fantastic nail-care company located in Virginia, and this week they're going to give one lucky Freckled Italian reader a bottle of nail polish! It's with a lot of excitement and a little bit of sadness that I can finally announce that at the beginning of August, Rob and I will be leaving Minneapolis to call Charlotte, North Carolina "home."
Minnesota has been the most wonderful place to spend the past year, and I'm so happy that it will always be the place we lived together when we were engaged, and the first home we ever had as newlyweds. And while it really has become home to us, we're both really looking forward to once again being within driving distance of all our friends and family back east.
It's going to be sad to leave such a wonderful city and some truly fantastic friends I've made here, but if I've learned anything through my life's adventures thus far, it's that you can take a lot of love for a lot of people and things with you wherever you go.
Rob's parents came to visit us this weekend, so we spent a lot of time showing off our favorite Minneapolis (and St. Paul!) neighborhoods, farmers markets, restaurants, coffee shops, and lakes. And on Sunday, I got to spend an hour or two with my best friend Tina's sister, who is biking across the United States for MS. We went to Minnehaha Falls for a gorgeous walk around the park and waterfall. It's always so nice to see loved ones from home in Minneapolis.
