About Freckled Italian

Hi! I'm Megan. Here are a few things about me:

I was born in the San Francisco Bay Area to an Italian mother and an Irish father.
Currently living with a very tall man in Minnesota.

I studied English and Creative Writing at Longwood University.
Completed an M.A. in Children's Literature from Hollins University in 2012.

I love running, cooking, baking, coffee & tea, Paleo, and laughing.
I often cry over cute animals, good movies, and my favorite songs.

You can also find me at Cave Girl Consulting and The Eighty Twenty.

I'm glad you stopped by!
Please stay a while and say hello.

What I Wore 60: Braving the Elements
Whenever Rob and I tell people that we live in Minneapolis, you can bet that the first thing that comes out of their mouth is usually, "Oh, gosh, you know it's cold there, right?" And at the risk of sounding like a huge brat, let me say that yes, we do know. This weekend was exceptionally cold, with a windchill of -26 on Sunday, but on Saturday, it was an entire nine degrees above zero, so while we were out running some errands, we stopped at Lake Normandale to snap a few photos.

I must be adjusting well to this climate, because I decided to leave my jacket in the car and was outside for ten whole minutes! So without further ado, here's what I wore this weekend (mostly under my parka).

Sweater + Corduroys: J.Crew | Glasses: Kate Spade
Vest: Ralph Lauren | Necklace: Ann Taylor LOFT
Boots: c/o Oliberte | Bag: Hobo
Watch: Gift from Rob | Bracelet: J.Crew

Stay warm out there, friends.

Getting Back Into It With Lorna Jane
The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Lorna Jane.

Finding yourself back in a fitness routine again after the holidays can be rough--I know. But simple things like colorful, comfy clothes can make the transition a little easier. Lorna Jane sent me a great pair of leggings and a bright tank top to spice up my gym (or living room) time this year and I'm really loving them so far. I was excited to try cropped pants since most leggings I wear are full-length. The tops run a little big, so if you're going to order something, maybe go a size down.

Lorna Jane also has an awesome e-book packed with tips and recipes to help you kick sugar to the curb in 2014. Check it out here. And while you're at it, visit Move Nourish Believe, Lorna Jane's beautiful blog. This is an awesome company and I'm so glad to have the opportunity to work with them.

It's a new year! Let's make the most of it.
