Gummy Vitamins for Grown-Ups

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to have a vitamin regimen but have been unable to do so for a number of reasons. First, I can't swallow any pill or tablet unless it's tiny and round and smooth; otherwise I will absolutely gag and cough it back up. It's pretty cute. Second, even if I find some that I actually can keep down, I forget to take them and it's like the whole thing never even happened. And finally, when it comes to vitamins, I don't really know where to start--I end up feeling pretty overwhelmed about what I should and shouldn't be taking/need, and then I just give up and move on to other things.

Enter Olly (and I'm not talking about last night's episode of Game of Thrones--that kid and I are going to have to have a talk). Anyway, I'm not usually one to jump to include a product review on Freckled Italian, but I gave these a try and loved them so much that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share them with you. Maybe I'm just a kid at heart, but delicious gummy vitamins have seriously been adding something to my day. I spread them out all day so I don't take them all at once--because what's life without something to look forward to?

You can easily mix and match them to come up with your own personal vitamin system, which I think is cool. And the labeling is really easy and straightforward. Right now I'm taking Solid Bones (calcium, vitamin D3, K2, and boron), a prenatal multi (which my doctor told me I should be taking at this point, regardless of whether I am/want to get pregnant or not), and their fish oil (which isn't a chewable but is Megan-approved and also adorably named The Alpha and Omega-3). I also have my eye on Totally Calm and Undeniable Beauty, because why not?

This post is brought to you in partnership with Olly. As always, I appreciate your support as I continue to work with sponsors!

Right now Olly is running a sweepstakes and if you win, you'll receive a day spa package for you and a friend, a six-month supply of Olly Vitamins, and a personal wellness consultation with Olly's nutritionist. 100 runner-ups will also recieve an Olly product of their choosing--which would you choose?

Recipe: Easy At-Home Ramen

If you know me at all, you know I can't resist a big bowl of noodles. Last month, La Crema asked me to come up with a ramen recipe that would compliment their awesome Pinot Gris and I was absolutely up to the challenge!

I made a big batch of broth and actually found some gluten-free ramen noodles, so we had regular and GF options. Then I set out little bowls of toppings so that everyone could make their own bowl, exactly how they liked it. I was actually surprised at how easy and delicious it turned out!

Ender wanted some, too. Can you blame him?

Mastering the Art of the Smokey Eye

I don't know about you, but I'm a huge fan of makeup. I wear a lot of it and I love all the stuff you can do with it, but I've always just kind of figured it out as I went along. Last week, I sat down for a HiLovely Beauty Chat, where I spent a half hour getting one-on-one makeup coaching, discussed the famous smokey eye (plus a few liquid eye liner tips), and learned how to actually make it all come together for everyday wear.

Here are a few things I took away from my session:

  • You really can use all four colors in an eye shadow quad, and you can do it without ending up looking like a clown.
  • Concealer is your friend when you're working on the perfect winged liner.
  • Good brushes absolutely do matter (I've always suspected this but now know it to be true).

This post is brought to you in partnership with HiLovely. My session was the "All About Eyes" Beauty Chat, but they have a variety of different topics that are customizable, easy, and so fun!
