Peterson Family Photos: Charlotte Edition

Charlotte NC Family Photos | Freckled Italian

Since we're moving so soon (two weeks!), I asked my friend RΓ©my to take some photos of me, Rob, and Ender in Uptown the other day--I really wanted some shots to capture our time here in Charlotte. There are so many good ones I had trouble picking just a few favorites! I can't believe how big Ender is, especially if you look at last year's session with our wedding photographer.

An Acute Designs Shoot with Virginia Ashley Photography

Acute Designs | Freckled Italian

A few weeks ago, my friend Regina of Acute Designs reached out to see if I'd be interested in modeling some of her new pieces for a photo shoot with Virginia Ashley Photography. It was so exciting to hear that they were working together because Gina made the headpiece I wore for my wedding and Ashley shot the wedding! Although Gina's in California (and I've never even met her in person), it almost felt like she was there with us as we met up in Virginia last Friday.

There are too many gorgeous Acute Designs pieces to choose a favorite, but I wanted to share a few photos from our shoot because I was all about those braids and the dresses Gina picked out! And I'm no professional model, but I'll stand in front of Ashley's camera any day. I flipped through these photos feeling super lucky to have such talented friends in my life.

Weekend in Photos // Spring in the Twin Cities

This weekend was really good. Saturday was rainy and warm and involved a long lunch and peach cider at The Happy Gnome followed by some gorgeous macarons from Cosettas and a movie night at home. Easter felt a little weird this year, since we would usually be doing a big brunch at my parents' house all day, but on Sunday Rob and I ate eggs and drank coffee all morning before heading out to Lake Harriet to enjoy the beautiful weather before eating a really early dinner on the patio of a restaurant in our neighborhood.

I love a weekend where we spend one day in St. Paul and the other in Minneapolis. It makes me feel like I'm really taking advantage of the area. I've said this countless times, but it's been a long winter. It feels good to finally open the windows, take a long walk, and feel the sun on my skin.

How was your weekend?

Weekend in Photos // Settled In

This weekend was low-key and exactly what I needed. I've been a little more stressed out than I'd like to be lately, so we slept in on Saturday and drove through our neighborhood Caribou for coffee before going back home to make ourselves breakfast, read a wonderful article my mom sent from Roanoke about our wedding officiant (making us even more excited for May 3), and spend a large chunk of time on the couch.

I also managed to organize my work space and editorial calendar for the next few weeks, fold some laundry, and go to the gym twice, so it was the perfect mix of a Lazy Weekend and a Get Things Done Weekend.

On Sunday, I met my friend Daci for coffee and writing (we're taking those Old Friend from Far Away prompts seriously, you guys), followed by a quick walk through the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. And on my way back, I swung by our apartment to pick up Rob and we had a nice late lunch/early dinner at one of our favorite placesAll in all, a great few days.

Styled "Bridal" Shoot Part Two | Happy Hour

After part one of our styled shoot, we swapped flowers and teapots for a fur, red lipstick, and a bottle of champagne.
It's amazing how a few different accessories (or, also in this case, beverages) can change the feel of a dress.

Thanks so much for letting us share these--Ashley and I had such a fabulous time shooting together. I can't wait to see my bridesmaids in these dresses when I walk down the aisle in just three months!

This photo shoot was originally featured on Burnett's Boards! You can check it out here

Other details: Vintage fur, Acute Designs belt, J.Crew dress (similar one here) in dusty shale.
Hair by Monica Wakefield at Oliver's Twist, champagne glass c/o my parent's cocktail glass collection.
