Perhaps a little late to the party, I finally took the leap and tried my hand at a sock bun yesterday.
Since I haven't vlogged in a while, I thought I'd share my new-found enthusiasm about this hairstyle with you today via YouTube. I hope there's a vlogging future for me out there that includes more than just mediocre hair tutorials and taking shots of booze, but for now, it's all I've got. Enjoy, and go forth and put your hair in high buns!

The fact that got heaps excited when you realised it was like a donut, the fact that it's a sock without the toe part and it's called.. a sock without the toe part and also that you scooched down in your chair hahaha. This is easily one of the best videos I've ever seen - you should just vlog every single day! Just made my day, I'm still laughing ha x

ReplyDeleteFunnily enough, I moved to this tiny town in New Mexico in high school, and several girls there did the sock bun thing. This was about 11 years ago (eek), and I had never seen it before. I hadn't seen it since, either, until it blew up recently. Anyway, I haven't been able to get into it, I guess because of associated high school memories, but it actually looks really lovely on you!

ReplyDeletei've been kicking myself over and over for cutting all my hair off after the wedding. The prenatal vitamins are supposed to make my hair grow faster, but it's just not fast enough! lol!

ReplyDeleteI think the bangs are crucial to pull this off. For example, I am bangless and any type of high bun or topknot I attempt - I end up looking like a sumo wrestler. But you look really cute. So good job, Megan.
ReplyDeleteI think the sumo thing might also have something to do with the fact that I've yet to take the plunge and try paleo everythings and my face is giant because of it. Oy.
Ahhh the sock bun! This is my no fail hair style when i'm in a rush or need to wash my hair. Great demo, you are so adoable!

ReplyDeletealso, sock buns are heaven. we always used them for low buns at dance recitals and competitions and shiz, but i will have to try the top bun for easy everyday wear. thanks for saving my monday morning.
